Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri dixit is an acclaimed Indian actress, known for the roles she played in Hum Aapke Hai Koun. She started her career in 1980s. The role she played in the role of Anil Kapoor in the film Tezaab made her incredibly popular. Her subsequent appearance on screen was in Dil along with Aamir. Born into a Mumbai middle-class family, and began to dance at a young age. As a teenager, she began acting and struggled for years because most of her films at first were unsuccessful. Eventually she became one the most famous actresses in Indian film. Following her marriage the actress took time away from performing prior to returning. More recently she played an important role in the film Gulaab Gang which was about the struggle of women in India. Dixit has been nominated for 15 Filmfare Awards. Of these, she has won 8. Padma Shri - the fourth most highly regarded civilian award in India awarded to Dixit. Her fame is based on her charitable work as well.
